Canon Update

Is it time for a slight change or continuation of your character's journey in their life back home than what you initially stated in their application? Then you have found the correct entry! Simply comment here with their updated information using the form provide below, and your character will be briefly sent home to experience more of their life outside the walls of Saeng Seong!

Gameplay-wise, they will be gone for a period of three days once the canon update has been mod-approved no matter how long they are in their own worlds. Once approved, feel free to let your fellow players know at [community profile] rekindle_ooc!

Canon down dates to an earlier point are accepted, but with two conditions. The first is that memories of the game and CR would be reset, and the second is that the down dated character would vanish from the game setting and arrive with any new player characters on the intro logs.

Mai | Avatar: the Last Airbender

[personal profile] maipokerface 2013-09-24 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Mai [personal profile] maipokerface
Canon: OU
Previous Canon Point: Post Book 3, Episode 10 "The Day of Black Sun, Part 1: The Invasion"
New Canon Point: Post "Rebound" comic

Significant changes due to new canon point:
The most significant of changes is Mai's on again off again relationship with Zuko. She managed to confront him about his leaving her with just a letter to break it off at Boiling Rock, found herself locked up in a prison cell in his place and then she goes against Azula in order to save him. This lands both her and Ty Lee in prison until the end of the series. She manages to have herself sprung from jail and while Ty Lee goes to join the Kiyoshi Warriors, Mai goes to patch things up with Zuko, who's taken the throne as Fire Lord.

It works... for a while at least. Eventually Zuko grows consumed by his own self-doubts and develops a near paranoia over the idea of assassins. Mai brings the Kiyoshi Warriors to help guard him after complaining about how he keeps leaving and not telling her anything about it.

The final straw for Mai is when it comes to light thanks to Suki that Zuko has been speaking with Ozai. It's yet another thing he couldn't confide in her about and another secret he holds. Mai leaves the Palace telling Zuko that he'll have an easier time keeping his secrets if he is alone.

As of now in canon, the pair have split up yet again. This split up is far different from the one Mai has endured from her current canon point. She was the one who went through with this one and she's done so with a sense of it needing to be done rather than her wishing to do so. She isn't bitter over the breakup but rather sadly accepting of it.

She's shown still bearing a great deal of loyalty to Zuko even in the face of her father's Ozai group. It's clear she doesn't hate Zuko and feels no need to be so petty as to ruin his hold on the throne. At the end of the comic, she is shown quietly contemplating the picture of her and Zuko done shortly after his return to the Fire Nation before joining the Avatar. She thinks back fondly to those times and misses the man even if she feels their separation was for the best.

In short, Mai's personality is less bitter, less full of hurt and pain as it has been. She'll return sadly accepting the end of her relationship and while still grieving it looking for how to continue on with her like.

Character: Rei Ryugazaki [personal profile] butterflop
Canon: [OU] Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club
Previous Canon Point: Episode 8, before Rin and Haru's race in prefecturals.
New Canon Point: End of Episode 12

Significant changes due to new canon point:

After what happened in the prefectural tournament, Rei is finally informed of who exactly Rin is, and his connection to the other boys on the swim team. Armed with this knowledge and the resulting confrontation, Rei begins to realize how important the others are to him, growing fiercely defensive of them in the wake of Rin's behavior leaving the others downtrodden and confused. He realizes fully that these guys are his friends, and the best ones he could ever ask for. This realization drives him to practice his swimming in earnest, giving way to a significant improvement of his stroke and overall time despite a few goggle malfunctions here and there.

On top of getting to know the others on the team, he finally learns why Rin has acted as he had, and why it is he swims. It is learning of everyone's true motivations, including his own purpose, that Rei makes the decision to temporarily give away his spot on the swim team, so that the boys can finally swim together again and discover the same epiphany he had. Though Rei's decision blows their chance of making it to nationals, the boys are finally happy again, motivated again.

The results of his actions speak immensely of Rei's changes ever since he'd joined the swim team: By the end he's more relaxed around the others, smiling a little more and he truly feels like he belongs in the group rather than feeling like the inadequate odd one out. He learns that perhaps calculations can be put aside every once in a while, that perfection can be achieved by will, rather than crunching numbers. In terms of Saeng Seong, he'll stop being a resistant blockhead and see to aiding others if the lack of touch ails them, and be a bit more social.

Character: Charlie Bradbury [personal profile] not_really_charlie
Canon: [OU]
Previous Canon Point: Pac Man Fever
New Canon Point: Slumber Party
Significant changes due to new canon point: Charlie is pretty much the same, personality wise - still close to Sam and Dean, too, geeking out discussing girls and watching TV... The biggest difference is that she's finally completely embraced the life they introduced herself to. She's begun doing the occasional solo-job as a hunter, killing the things that endanger her world. She's even died once, now - a very big right of passage for a hunter. (And was brought back via Dean, making her an official-unofficial Winchester.)

She's also finally gotten the big life-changing quest she wanted - she went with Dorthy to Oz, intending to have adventures and get some stories of her own. Of course, instead of landing in Oz, she'll be arriving in Rekindle, sans her new pal... But having said yes, and having accepted the quest, will fill Charlie with a brand new determination. After this episode, she'll know beyond a doubt that she can play in the big leagues.

Character: Steve Rogers [personal profile] wontdoanyless
Canon: [OU] Marvel Cinematic Universe
Previous Canon Point: The night before the super soldier procedure.
New Canon Point: End of Avengers, when he’s driving off on his motorcycle.
Significant changes due to new canon point:

Steve will be going through significant changes with this canon point. To start off, he’ll now have the serum injected through his blood, which not only makes him gain 100 pounds of muscle, but makes his body at the peak of human potential. He’s basically all of the Olympic people meshed together in one person. His metabolism runs four times as fast, so he can’t get drunk and needs to eat more as a result of that as well. Due to being in World War II, he has learned how to lead others effectively, utilizing everyone’s talents and strategizing to take down HYDRA. He’s also shown to be able to fight well in close combat and can toss his shield to bounce off walls by calculating the angle of it.

Skinny Steve’s main concept is stopping bullies and that hasn’t changed. However, he now knows that killing people is sometimes the only way to stop someone, as Steve has been shown killing HYDRA soldiers and even the possessed SHIELD agents in Avengers. He’s still idealistic and optimistic, just also a lot more realistic and serious when he needs to be. Loss is something that is familiar to him now, during the war he’s lost countless soldiers and Bucky, and when he wakes up in the future due to his 70 year sleep in the ice, he lost his whole era. Peggy and everyone he once knew is now gone, so Steve is feeling a lot lonelier and displaced in a future he barely understands. Because of that, he’s more withdrawn and a little quieter, but still tries to be polite and friendly in a more distant manner. However, there’s some deep anger in him too because of his circumstances, but he usually tries to hide it and keep to himself. He doesn’t really want to burden people with his problems all that much.

He doesn’t have much left in the future, except his title as Captain America. He is proud of that position and still wants to help and do the right thing; he tries to not let anyone down. Steve is generally more duty oriented now and even though he doesn’t always follows orders to the tee, he’s still a soldier that wants a task. He wants to feel useful still, especially since he’s considered a relic in the future. The invasion of New York and the banding of the Avengers have helped a little with it, but Steve doesn’t know any of them that well and just respects them because they have worked with him. He hasn’t formed any close bonds to anyone yet.

In Rekindle, he’ll be frustrated that only three days went by, but still a little glad that it hasn’t changed too much while he’s gone. He’ll probably feel a little guilty thinking it, but he’ll keep those thoughts to himself. Steve will probably be more open in trying to talk with Tony, since he’s a teammate and Avenger even if he doesn’t necessarily like him too much still. However, he’ll be a bit more suspicious and antagonistic towards Loki because of his attempts in conquering Earth in Avengers. Steve will probably be a little happy to see other familiar faces, like those of his friends, even if he won’t try and dump all of his problems on them.

Character: Lightning [personal profile] lightstrike
Canon: [OU] Final Fantasy XIII Compilation
Previous Canon Point: FFXIII. Chapter 11, in Oerba.
New Canon Point: FFXIII-2. After sending Noel through the Historia Crux to find Serah.
Significant changes due to new canon point:

First off, Lightning is no longer a l'Cie. All of those old abilities have been stripped from her after she came out of stasis at the end of FXIII. Her brand is also gone, so she's no longer under the constant threat of turning into a Cie'th, though a scar has been left where it used to be. However, now, she's Etro's "knight", so that means she has access to perks that the fal'Cie cant give to their l'Cie.

Lightning now wears armor reminiscent of a valkyrie's (just pretend the render is flipped, because she holds her gunblade with her right hand and the shield is on her left), and she has new powers to suit her new position. She still has access to six roles, but they are different, and have less moves than her l'Cie roles-- though they're definitely more powerful than her old moveset.

Paladin aka the Commando replacement.
Shaman & Mage aka the Ravager replacements.
Knight aka the Sentinel replacement.
Conjurer aka the Synergist replacement.
Sorcerer aka the Saboteur replacement.
She still keeps Army of One, but it also as a more powerful variant called Legion of One.

She doesn't have a Medic replacement, but her HP is so high and her defense is very good, so it will take a lot of damage just to get her worried about the lack of Cures. Her total HP is over 100K. I mean seriously, she can take a lot of punishment.

Her ability to summon is also still intact and she has her eidolith, but because she's Etro's guardian and Etro is the Eidolons' creator, Lightning can summon all of them. Any of them she wants out in the field, she gets them. However, she can only have one Eidolon out at any given time. They'll also help with her lack of Cure, since their skillsets haven't changed since the first game, save for some that only appear once they're in Gestalt mode and have Lightning riding them.

However, the biggest difference is not in her career change, her new outfit or her new ways to break faces, but in her personality.

She's still the same for the most part. Quiet, strong-willed, so on and so forth. But now she's also less standoffish, and a whole lot sadder-- and it's a bit obvious from the look on her face. The reality of what she'd done as a l'Cie had finally caught up with her. Lightning has also seen the world through Etro, which makes her guilt even worse, since what Etro sees includes her l'Cie days. She'd done horrible things, and even if she knows she'd done them to survive, her actions still weigh on her mind. Choosing to stay in Valhalla as Etro's guardian as her way of atoning speaks a lot about how she's changed-- before, she wouldn't have thought about that, much less cared. She's not about to actively look for forgiveness from anyone she's wronged, but the guilt is real, and stays right there because she doesn't let it out, along with a lot of other emotions.

In the RP, she already knows about people disappearing and suddenly coming back so she wont be overly surprised at having been gone for only three days. But returning to Saeng Seong will still annoy her to no end, because she had a duty to fulfill-- even if she knows that she would be returned to the exact point in time she left when she gets back into Valhalla, she was fighting a war. That's not something you can just brush off or forget so easily, especially when the war is against a man who wants to completely ruin everything ever.

Lightning wont be hostile to anyone, unless they tick her off first. She also definitely wont be as much of a shit to people around-- she'll be less brusque, more quiet, but still not into letting others walk all over her like a doormat.

Character: Y'akeno Lhea [personal profile] ofsongandstrings
Canon: [OU/OC] Final Fantasy XIV
Previous Canon Point: What Do You Mean You Forgot The Wine Main Scenario quest.
New Canon Point: Build on the Stone Main Scenario quest.
Significant changes due to new canon point:
Physically, she has stayed the same height and weight. Though her hair has grown out some, and the shock and grief caused by witnessing her friends and much of her second family dying at the hands of imperials (via the Echo) have taken its toll. The vibrant purple and lavender streaks in her fur have greyed, and she sports a few scars on her left cheek from taking one of Garuda's plumes striking her in the face. She has matured much in the many months from the Fetchquest From Hell to this point, even so much as cutting her hair a new way in a homage to her deceased mother.

Yet the changes are not just physical for her. Over the many moons, she has mastered her art of war and continued on to learn other styles and begun supplimenting her archery with the skills learned in other forms of the martial arts. If anything, she has begun picking up other classes so as to not feel as much of a burden on her fellow Free Company members - and to be her very best in the trials to come.

Y'akeno has struggled much while home, and this struggle reached a climax when she returned to the Waking Sands after the primal Titan's defeat and she found the corpses her friends left behind and their lifeblood splattering the halls. They, and a few imperial soldiers who were left there to rot. The shock took its toll on her mind to the point where she fled back to the Shroud where she stayed with her Bard instructor, Jehantel, for some few days learning new things while mourning before other survivors began to speak up over their linkshells. Moved to tears in front of her instructor, she soon returned to Ul'dah to sign the Free Company petition for the Crystalborn before transporting Noraxia back to their home in Little Solace so that she may be buried in the Sylvan manner.

It was after consoling Frixio that she did not suffer ere long that she vowed vengeance upon the one who had killed her friend, and realized just why she wanted to become stronger; why she fought. She did not want to lose the others she had left, nor did she want to be a burden on others anymore after a lifetime of being the weakest in her family. Despite her constant smiles and her carefree manner, she always worried about being the runt of the group every time. So she pushed herself a little harder, learning new moves and new songs as she went so that she could better support her friends and soothe the anger and pain that resided within them all. She even began to work on her crafting more in their downtime, in hopes that it would be good enough to protect them in battle.

Even before she is asked to learn the grief of others by her mentor Jehantel, she felt it resonating in her heart and the soul crystal as she drew her bow on the aldgoats who mourned for their own loss. It was the same grief she and her friends still fought through day after day, striving to rebuild after the empire's attack on their shared home. At last, she knew who she fought for.

She fought for her friends, and there was no way that the encroaching darkness was taking that away from her again.

So when Y'akeno learned that Jehantel was the archer sung about in The Vainglorious Fool, she could not help but sympathize with him. She too felt that way, but found herself humbled by the lessons and the echoes that resonated from his past. He had lost his friends in his own pursuit to find a bit of glory for himself, just like she had and never wanted to again. As kindred spirits, the two traveled to Coerthas to pay respects to his fallen unit when the Ixal had other plans. On her own (as Jehantel had difficulty picking up a bow again after failing so hard before), Y'akeno found herself against an entire party of Ixali soldiers and watchwolves. Yet as the battle for their lives raged on, she found Jehantel's songs fortifying her spirit as her own fortified his. In their shared song of grief, the final chord hit a note of hope for them both as he saved Y'akeno from the last standing Ixal with a single shot to the head.

Having taught him how to take a step forward, she was a bard in her own right, and now geared with the traditional garb of one, ready to go to war alongside her friends and family. Standing with the other Crystalborn, they together faced the darkness as others cleared the path before them to Livia sans Arvina and Gaius van Baelsar, and eventually, a Lahabrea-possessed Thancred. With their Crystals raised aloft, their combined Light pierced the darkness like an arrow to the heart. Thus was the realm saved from their imperial foes and Thancred saved from Lahabrea's thrall.

The months passed, and as they slayed the primals once more and the realm awakened as the Seventh Astal Era began, the Crystalborn found themselves amidst preparations for moving the Scions of the Seventh Dawn's headquarters from the Waking Sands in Vesper Bay to the Rising Stones in Mor Dhona. Despite Minfilia's hesitation, all concerns were soon laid to rest as F'laminn reassured her daughter that it would be fine. Thus with packing and much of the Scions already departed, they prepared to make their own leave when they heard the Antecedent scream in pain from the Solar.

Another Ascian had come knocking, and he too sought audience with those who had "the Gift and knowledge." The Crystalborn found him in the middle of broad daylight, and he began testing them as they traveled northward. Leaving naught but cryptic hints as to what the Echo is truly capable of when mastered, even going so far as to say that when it was mastered they would be as equals, Elidibius disappeared once more into the Void.

They began their treck to Revenant's Toll, and as they settled into the Rising Stones, they gained word of a new predicament.

The Students of Baldesion, their distant allies in the Sharlayan motherland, had grown silent...
Overview
Over the course of the ordeal to lay Titan low to the point of her return to Saeng Seong from Coerthas, her relationships with her friends in the Crystalborn have strengthened greatly. Some would even say to the point of surrogate family. Said family includes the lalafellin Allumette Honeycutt (Monk), Kha'li Lakari (White Mage), Arenlona (Warrior), and Gaia (Paladin). The closest of these to her are Gaia and Kha'li, the latter whom has dragged her around on envoy adventures once she learned that her song had a mana-amplifying effect.

She has become a Bard in her own right, and begun mastering other classes of war, and grown up considerably as a result while still remaining the same derpy kitty everyone who knows her has come to love.

Character: [Piper McLean] [personal profile] sweettalker
Canon: [OU] Percy Jackson: Heroes of Olympus
Previous Canon Point: Post "Mark of Athena"
New Canon Point: Pre mist-memories/pre "The Lost Hero"
Significant changes due to new canon point: Piper's going back quite a bit in time- not a staggering amount in terms of YEARS, but around 8 months or more- give or take. I'm asking to take her back to the point in time before her memories were altered by Hera and the mist, meaning that she'll have no recollection of Jason Grace (her boyfriend), Annabeth Chase (the first demigoddess she met), Percy, Frank, Hazel, Drew, Nico, or any of the others. She'll have no recollection of being a demigoddess, meeting her mother, or any of her experiences throughout the course of the books to date. The only thing from the books that she'll remember is Leo, since they were friends for about three months before being given mist-altered memories. By downgrading Piper will be returning while dealing with the rocky nature of her relationship with her father, which won't be all that different from canon except for the fact that she won't know why he's shut her out as he has or that he's making the effort to protect her. She'll have bottled up frustrations over that in addition to her anger at his assistant, Jane. She also won't remember her mother, so won't have learned the life lessons about love and how powerful a force it is, how beauty is all about finding the right fit, or that life is richer when shared with friends doing good deeds.

Her powers wouldn't change, but Piper will no longer be aware of them, if approved, meaning that she might accidentally charmspeak people from time to time (I'll follow the same policy of asking first, and my permission post is still available). That will only get worse if her powers start fluctuating from not meeting the quota. Her eyes will still do their little magical brown-blue-green kaleidoscope trick, and her smile would still dazzle people... if she ever actually DOES smile, that is, with this new canon point.

In terms of personality Piper will actually come back QUIETER than she was when she left, withdrawn and more wary of others. While I wouldn't go as far as to say she'll be flat out cold she will be a little more antisocial and a little less responsive. Previous CR will have to be patient if they want to reestablish a good relationship with her, as she'll be coming in a little freshly jaded from being sent out of state to Wilderness school by her father. That means she'll be doing her damned best to keep a low profile, dressing like a tomboy, guarded, and not really very friendly. She'll try to avoid trouble in regards to the type of people she allows herself to be around but she'll probably get into trouble with her charmspeaking again like she did before she went to camp.

She'll technically be going back to being 15 years old, as well, since she would have been about 16 by the end of Mark of Athena. Her hair will have a choppier look to it in places where she'd cut it previously with safety scissors.
ironyman: (savin the world from my couch)

[personal profile] ironyman 2014-06-05 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Tony Stark [personal profile] ironyman
Canon: [OU]
Previous Canon Point: Beginning of Iron Man 3
New Canon Point: End of Iron Man 3
Significant changes due to new canon point: The biggest change is the removal of the arc reactor. This physical change directly correlates with his biggest mental change. In Avengers, Tony calls the reactor a “terrible privilege,” implying that it is what allows him to be a hero. Without shrapnel in his chest, Tony does not believe he could be Iron Man, as if its removal could cause him to become the Merchant of Death again.

By being forced to not rely on his suits for most of the movie, Tony is able to come to terms with the fact that he doesn’t need the suit to be Iron Man. He’s been saying “I am Iron Man” for two years at this point, but this is the first time he can truly believe it.

Combined with the near loss of Pepper, the “one thing I can’t live without,” Tony is able to make a leap forward in his character development. He chooses to destroy his suits, not a sign of retirement--he is Iron Man, he can always build more--but a removal of obsessed, diseased parts of his life. And, never one to take things halfway, Tony proceeds to cut out the other damaged part.

Tony isn’t fixed at this point, of course. You can’t “fix” Tony Stark. He’s a narcissist and an asshole, and those things probably will never change. He’s still going to screw up; that’s part of being Tony. The terrible privilege was never the arc reactor, it’s being Tony Stark. To be Iron Man, a hero, a genius... but also a huge fuck-up.

He’ll return more stable and less of a shut-in. No more obsession with suits and fewer--because really, it’s Tony--self-destructive tendencies. He’ll be more driven, and I’d like to start up a StarkTech branch, so expect to see me in the Job post in the near future.

Character: Lightning [personal profile] lightstrike
Canon: [OU] Final Fantasy XIII Compilation
Previous Canon Point: FFXIII-2.
New Canon Point: Lightning Returns. Final day, just before arriving at the new world.
Significant changes due to new canon point:
Okay first off, I need to outline what Lightning has done on the days since her return, since it's all dependent on player action. For Lightning's background I'm going with this:

Days 1&2: Main Quest 1(Noel) + some Luxerion sidequests
Day 3: Main Quest 2 (Snow) + some Yusnaan sidequests
Day 4: part of Main Quest 3 (Angel of Valhalla) + some Wildlands sidequests
Day 5: end of Main Quest 3 (Angel of Valhalla & Caius)
Days 6&7: Main Quest 4 (Fang) + some Dead Dunes sidequests
Day 8: part of Main Quest 5 (Sazh & Dajh) + Moogle sidequests
Day 9: end of Main Quest 5 + all other Wildlands sidequests
Days 10-12: MORE SIDEQUESTIN' 8U
Day 13: she made an extra day COOL LET'S GO TO THE ULTIMATE LAIR
Day 14: VERY. FINAL. DAY!!

A lot has changed in Lightning since her last canon point. Physically, she may remain the same save for her body being wiped clean of imperfections again (save for the ever-present l'Cie scar), but her old roles have been stripped from her (again), and she has an entirely new set of skills, which the game calls Schemata. Here's a run-down of her abilities, because if I wrote them all down here, this comment would be ridiculously long. Why? Her powers are pretty complicated.

But once again, the biggest change in her is in her personality.

First and foremost, Lightning has been hardened by her time as a l'Cie and Etro's protector. But first, let's bridge the gap between her previous canon point and LR, as a lot happened.

A little after sending Noel off, she'd watched her sister die and have her soul tortured in the Requiem of the Goddess DLC, which caused her overwhelming grief and guilt because she believed it was her fault. She also deemed herself beyond redemption and crystallized herself to keep Serah's soul safe from disappearing into the chaos. Overall, she was not in a good state mentally and emotionally.

In LR, Lightning is done mourning, being somber about her past and attempting to atone for her mistakes. She's instead more interested in moving forward, facing the future with her head held high, and take her sister back, no matter the cost. To the casual observer, her attitude more or less resembles her personality back in FFXIII, and they're not wrong. However, they're not completely right either.

Hardened she may be, but she's also more polished. She's still the same for the most part because her core traits just cant be erased, but now she's also slightly more willing to help others-- at first this was because she had to as her divine mission, but eventually began to do so with a genuine want to help them out. She's not about to ask just any stranger straight up if they need help or be nicer to people in general, but she's gotten good at figuring out who needs help the most, and do what she can for them. This is a big deal, because before she couldn't really give a damn about other people outside of her little circle. But now that she's had to interact with total strangers, she's beginning to understand people just a little more.

Lightning is also much happier. In the entire game, she has only smiled a handful of times, but she's had cause to smile a lot during the last few minutes before being returned to Saeng Seong. She's realized her character flaws, especially the one where she tends to hide all the emotions she feels make her weak, since as joy, love, sadness, grief, affection, as well as the need to ask for help. In becoming the Savior and helping people, she's gone on a journey to discover herself as well, and allows herself to now feel, when before she either ignored her emotions or lacked them. Not to say that she'll emote a lot more, but instead she'll admit to herself and others that she's feeling a certain way.

To end this long comment: Lightning is a much better person all around. She might even actually make a couple of friends once she gets back to the city.

Character: Steve Rogers [personal profile] noparachute
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe [OU]
Previous Canon Point: post-Avengers
New Canon Point: Post-Cap 2
Significant changes due to new canon point:

Steve is physically pretty much the same, however, he’s definitely a lot more skilled with this new canon point. His fighting style has greatly improved, being able to pull of mixed martial arts and go toe-to-toe with the Winter Soldier. He’s been on a lot more SHIELD missions and thus he’s adapted to new situations and refined his technique with each battle. He can use advanced technology pretty well now and he’s caught up with the world a lot more, understanding more pop culture and the history he’s missed.

So, in a way, he’s moving on from what he has lost.

A lot of the anger he showed in Avengers has simmered down a bit too. He’s able to joke about his loss more. However, Steve still holds a lot of sorrow, he just has a different way of showing it now. He forces a smile even when he doesn’t know what makes him happy anymore. He just accepts these things now. Steve hasn’t given up though and still tries to make new friends and maybe even go on a date, but the latter is far from his mind.

It’s important to note that he kinda has a bit of an identity issue still; he doesn’t have a home and he really hasn’t found his place in the modern world. Before, he thought he could rely on SHIELD, throw himself back in work and serve like he used to. It just wasn’t the same to him, even before finding out that SHIELD was deeply infiltrated by HYDRA. And with that organization’s collapse, he’s without a chain of command. However, these things aren’t really his focus right now, they’re shoved back in his mind since he assigned himself his own personal mission: finding and rescuing his best friend, Bucky Barnes. It’s probably the first time since he’s woken up in the present era where Steve has taken a task that’s more personal rather than his duty as Captain America. So even though he’s still a bit displaced, he knows what to do and that is enough for him to keep moving and fighting.

In Saeng Seong, Steve is going to continue helping Bucky and doing whatever he can for him. He’s a little disappointed that he hasn’t seen the other Avengers (minus Natasha) since the Battle of New York, but he’ll still want to be friends with Tony and continue working on their comradery. He’ll feel a little more comfortable talking about what he lost and the changes he endured to other people, but he’ll still keep a friendly distance to most until he trusts them.
