First off, Lightning is no longer a l'Cie. All of those old abilities have been stripped from her after she came out of stasis at the end of FXIII. Her brand is also gone, so she's no longer under the constant threat of turning into a Cie'th, though a scar has been left where it used to be. However, now, she's Etro's "knight", so that means she has access to perks that the fal'Cie cant give to their l'Cie.
Lightning now wears armor reminiscent of a valkyrie's (just pretend the render is flipped, because she holds her gunblade with her right hand and the shield is on her left), and she has new powers to suit her new position. She still has access to six roles, but they are different, and have less moves than her l'Cie roles-- though they're definitely more powerful than her old moveset.
Paladin aka the Commando replacement. Shaman & Mage aka the Ravager replacements. Knight aka the Sentinel replacement. Conjurer aka the Synergist replacement. Sorcerer aka the Saboteur replacement. She still keeps Army of One, but it also as a more powerful variant called Legion of One.
She doesn't have a Medic replacement, but her HP is so high and her defense is very good, so it will take a lot of damage just to get her worried about the lack of Cures. Her total HP is over 100K. I mean seriously, she can take a lot of punishment.
Her ability to summon is also still intact and she has her eidolith, but because she's Etro's guardian and Etro is the Eidolons' creator, Lightning can summon all of them. Any of them she wants out in the field, she gets them. However, she can only have one Eidolon out at any given time. They'll also help with her lack of Cure, since their skillsets haven't changed since the first game, save for some that only appear once they're in Gestalt mode and have Lightning riding them.
However, the biggest difference is not in her career change, her new outfit or her new ways to break faces, but in her personality.
She's still the same for the most part. Quiet, strong-willed, so on and so forth. But now she's also less standoffish, and a whole lot sadder-- and it's a bit obvious from the look on her face. The reality of what she'd done as a l'Cie had finally caught up with her. Lightning has also seen the world through Etro, which makes her guilt even worse, since what Etro sees includes her l'Cie days. She'd done horrible things, and even if she knows she'd done them to survive, her actions still weigh on her mind. Choosing to stay in Valhalla as Etro's guardian as her way of atoning speaks a lot about how she's changed-- before, she wouldn't have thought about that, much less cared. She's not about to actively look for forgiveness from anyone she's wronged, but the guilt is real, and stays right there because she doesn't let it out, along with a lot of other emotions.
In the RP, she already knows about people disappearing and suddenly coming back so she wont be overly surprised at having been gone for only three days. But returning to Saeng Seong will still annoy her to no end, because she had a duty to fulfill-- even if she knows that she would be returned to the exact point in time she left when she gets back into Valhalla, she was fighting a war. That's not something you can just brush off or forget so easily, especially when the war is against a man who wants to completely ruin everything ever.
Lightning wont be hostile to anyone, unless they tick her off first. She also definitely wont be as much of a shit to people around-- she'll be less brusque, more quiet, but still not into letting others walk all over her like a doormat.
