Job Listing And Application
Job Applications | ||
What Is This? This is a quick list/submission form for specialized jobs in Saeng Seong. Please note that this is for specialized/professional jobs. That is, jobs that require a certain skill set or qualifications. If you want to work at a grocery store, or as a waiter, then go for it! On the other hand if you'd like your character to work at a hospital, we'd like to see if they have the right skills for it. What Do I Need? Mainly, this handy dandy request form! In it, please list the canon skills your character has, and the parts of the canon (ie, numbered episodes, game scenes, dialogue, etc.) that indicates they have those skills. What if I just want to list my character's job as a waiter/barista/bartender/etc? You can do that too, and leave it in the comments section! We'll see about getting a list up and running at some point. Please remember that for small jobs (that is, things that aren't super important to the setting) you can go ahead and say your character has the job! What counts as a minor job? Basically, if it has minimal impact on the setting or what your character might learn about the city, and doesn't require a college education (or the equivalent) you're all set.Can I make up or pitch a special job? Of course! Just leave a comment with JOB SUGGESTION: [[NAME/TITLE OF JOB]] in the header, and we'll take a look at it! |

Character: Charlie Bradbury
Canon: Supernatural
Noted Skills: Genius hacker/programmer. (Canonically - she has a special spark, impossible to copy - you could take her form, and copy all the information in her head, but not her talent.
Canon Reference: Charlie is from The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo, LARP and the Real Girl, Pac-Man Fever, and Slumber Party.
She's currently from Pac-man fever, though I'm planning to update her to the last episode. c:
la barista
Character: Stephanie Brown
Canon: DC Comics
JOB SUGGESTION: that burger place owner
Of course since he's trying to gather information, the restaurant might also become a front for trying to eavesdrop on the locals who stop by to eat if they start to talk about the visitors or the city, etc. It could provide a future place for player logs to take place or if it fits the story, even for NPCs to visit if the mods wish.
Character: America (Alfred F. Jones)
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Skills: As a government worker and representative constantly doing favors and tasks for the president and congress/the house, it's fair to say America has to know how economics and businesses work- it's been a main concern in recent years. And he's also used to sitting at a desk sorting through paper work and reading policies. He has the charisma to approach others for business, and the leadership skills after years in armed services and government. And please, don't question how much this guy knows his fast food. Nothing is more American than a July bbq.
Police Detective
Character: Naoto Shirogane
Canon: Persona 4 Golden
Noted Skills: She's known as the 'Detective Prince'; a prodigy detective who's solved 26 'unsolvable' crimes, and she's only 16 years old. She was hired by the Police department to assist in the Inaba serial murder case. Without her powers of deduction, investigation, logic and research, the Investigation Team of Persona users nor the Police department would have been able to the solve the mystery and capture the culprit.
Canon Reference: Basically her entire wiki link talks about it.
As a note, if she can't work as a police detective, would setting up her own agency be alright?
Accepted
If Charlie wants to do some hacking and snooping in the database, it would be good to talk it out ahead of time, and figure out what she might uncover, and what some in character consequences might be. (And hey, it's no fun having a hacker character if you can't cause some shenanigans; just want to make sure it plays out well for everyone.)
Accepted
That said, with the influx of superheroes and relatively small amount of crime, Naoto might be doing a lot of after action reports, and record keeping. (At least for the moment!)
Accepted

JOB SUGGESTION: [[PERFORMER/HYPNOTHERAPIST]]
Canon: OC
Noted Skills: Daimon is a professional illusionist who has decades of experience as a stage performer. He will be both looking to get a street performer's license, and also looking for indoor venues at a live theater. However, his creative outlet is really a fair-weather job, so he'd like to open up a hypnotherapy office part time.
Canon Reference: Daimon used "stage performer" as his cover while working with the Lilim, in order to move around with Lilith to locate and rescue her children. He first used hypnosis for healing as his powers developed before meeting Lilith, and has taken it back up in the last few months.
Accepted
and that's no problem, about the little crime; I'm sure she'd make due with looking for lost cats and pets :V
JOB SUGGESTION: [[BODYWORKER/PROFESSIONAL HERBALIST]]
Canon: World of Darkness/Mage: the Ascension
Noted Skills: Ashe is a licensed bodyworker and herbalist, both as mundane covers for her healing magic. Using them in concert with her Life and Spirit abilities allows her to do a lot of work without eating a lot of Paradox.
Canon Reference: Ashe started studying anatomy and other basic medical skills while training as a Nurse Practitioner. She always supplemented some with alternative medicines, but did not study them seriously until after her Awakening. She has about a decade of experience in each.
Note: Ashe can do some pretty cool stuff with her healing, but she can't do anything spectacular (like restoring a disfigured person, a missing limb or a severed spine) in one go or the Paradox will hit her like a falling anvil. Long term healing plots are welcome, but she'll have to do anything drastic in sessions, so the character's body can grow accustomed and so that she can bleed off the Paradox in smaller chunks.
Animal Shelter Assistant
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Noted Skills: has a small bird that is almost always with him, brother he lives with owns three dogs, manga and anime often depicts him with animals, he is also a fast reader (one of the most recent strips says he reads 4 books a day) so he learns quickly for animals he doesn't know how to care for
Canon Reference: The little bird has been part of Prussia's character design from almost the beginning, the dogs are mentioned in several places as belonging to Germany (though it's also mentioned Prussia lives in the same house), there's the whole Nekotalia thing (cat versions of the countries that have interacted with the human versions), makes sense for him to know horses (he's never been shown with a horse, but considering he went to war so often it's something that's handwaved), he's also depicted with bunnies in his Teutonic/child years

From the money with that and a little saving, it should be easy to find a small office space; again, the third district might be the best bet, though Districts 1 and 2 also have space available.

JOB SUGGESTION: [[Tailor//Costume Designer]]
Canon: Persona 4: Golden
Noted Skills: Dude makes some killer dolls and is skilled with a needle and thread. He works quickly and with fine detail, never letting anything pass his notice. If he can make something cuter, he'll do it. If he can make it soft and cuddly, he'll do it.
Canon Reference: He grew up in a textile shop, first and foremost. His wiki entry notes his dealings, and his entire social link involves his growing comfortable with his hobbies. Throughout the game, Kanji is more than happy to mend buttons and seams or even touch up an embroidering. Rise Kujikawa asks the protagonist at one point where Kanji gets his clothing, since 'such pointy stuff' can't be found at Junes. Maybe he buys them online? Or, she ponders, he might have made it all himself.
My idea is that, while wandering into the theater in the new fifth district, he notes a local theater company in distress over a dress rehearsal; the lead actress' dress was torn after she took a fall. After rather boldly rushing up to fix it on the spot, the company decides to take him on as their fixer-upper guy on costumes. With time, building trust among the company and his own experience, he's even allowed to make his own designs and costumes for future productions later on.

JOB SUGGESTION: Armorer/Shopkeeper
Character: Y'akeno Lhea
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Noted Skills: Goldsmith, Blacksmith, Armorer, Leatherworker, Carpenter
Canon Reference: All adventurers are capable of joining each and every guild available after they reach lv10 in their starting battle-inclined class. Much of what she creates can be classified as weapons or armor, though there are more peaceful items as well such as sewing needles and leather tanning equipment. The database has recipes for each Disciple of Hand class, and considering the few times there are outbreaks of demonic snowmen, it's best to be prepared.

Re: Accepted!
JOB SUGGESTION: CHOCOBO GUARD/TRAINER
Canon: FFXIII
Noted Skills: Protecting chocobos from monsters, and riding chocobos, really. Pulsian chocobos take a lot of work, since they run away at the sight of danger and you wont be able to catch up to them.
Canon Reference: There's a mission in chapter 11 where the l'Cie must save a flock from monsters, which unlocks them for riding. Afterward, they can be ridden throughout the Archylte Steppe, and some places can only be reached with them. Unlike their Cocoon counterparts, Pulsian chocobos have not seen humans for several generations, so riding them without having had to kick them around and take too much time in taming them is an achievement in itself.
(Also in the future, she'll be an expert caretaker but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.)
Accepted!
Mechanic/Hardware repair
Canon: Shadowrun Returns: Dead Man's Switch
Noted Skills: She can do some repairs on mechanisms and hardware (she may need tweezers for smaller things), though not so much making new parts (she would take well to training to do this, however)
Canon Reference: Well, the rigger's starter outfit has a wrench on its belt and drones recover between missions at no extra cost to the player, so it's safe to assume they do repairs themselves.
If possible, she'd like a job that's as unpredictable as possible.
Accepted, and sorry for the delay!
It's because of this rather unpredictable schedule that there actually aren't many businesses doing machine repair at the moment (outside of Devin and Victor working on the government's stuff, of course). While she can choose to work with one of the small places currently in business, the fact that the field is so clear means that she shouldn't have any trouble if she sets up shop independently.

so he can feed his PokemonCharacter: Professor Samuel Oak
Canon: Pokemon Anime
Noted Skills: Doctoring Pokemon, running a Pokemon lab, performing (humane/ethical!) research on Pokemon
(The fact that all of his experience is with Pokemon and not real animals may be a hindrance, but he's fine with starting as some sort of assistant or nurse or something and working his way up as he becomes more familiar with real animals.)
Canon Reference: Specifically, he heals Pokemon in Pallet Party Panic (Ash's Pidgeotto) and Pinch Healing, and is seen examining starter Pokemon in Journey to the Starting Line. Otherwise, it's just something in general that usually comes up whenever he plays a major part in the episode.
Accepted! We're sorry for the delay!

Techno-Gizmo Shop Proprietor
Canon: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 TV series)
Noted Skills: Donnie has built all manner of wondrous devices in the past, presumably from parts scavenged around New York City.
Canon Reference: Donatello has constructed armored personnel carriers, a motorcycle, nightvision goggles, a hang glider, jetpacks, an underground drilling vehicle, a portal to transport living beings in and out of cyberspace, and cell phones, among other various sundries.
Accepted
That should be no problem. If Donatello wishes to set up a shop proper, he'll have to save up for the rent, but there should be no issue if he wishes to work on a smaller scale.
Re: Accepted
Keeper/Aquarist
Canon: Original
Noted Skills: Swims as a hobby, likes animals/has had pets (and is willing to take any classes or apprenticeships needed)
Canon Reference: Uh... me saying so? :S
Shinju's looking for something new, so why not combine two of his favorite things--swimming and animals? He'd be looking for a job at the zoo or the aquarium taking care of the fish or otterpenguins or tiger seals or what have you.
