I'm considering picking up a character from a poorly translated canon, and the transliteration of their name has suffered as a result, to the point of being almost unpronounceable.
Would it be alright to tweak the spelling of their name to the one that was probably meant, or should I stick with the unfortunate canon spelling?
To be specific: The character's name is spelled "Cherrl", but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "Cheryl".
